I hope you had a lovely, socially-distanced Thanksgiving and are enjoying getting ready for the holidays.
I’ve been thinking about how hard it is for emerging actors to find safe and reliable ways to enter the industry. There are a lot of websites out there masquerading as legitimate sources to find acting work.
KidsCasting is one to stay away from. I once had to call over 30 students to let them know that the casting notice they submitted to through KidsCasting was a scam. They were pretending to send the young actors plane fare for an audition and had asked their parents to provide their banking information. It makes my blood boil just thinking about that!
It’s hard for young actors and their families to know where to look and who to trust.
